Box-Office Milestone: ‘Incredibles 2’  Crosses $1B Globally

The Pixar sequel is the seventh animated film to join the billion-dollar club, not adjusted for inflation.

It is the seventh animated film to achieve the milestone, bringing Disney’s total tally to five, not adjusted for inflation.

And Incredibles 2 is the fourth title of 2018 to join the billion-dollar club so far after Disney and Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War ($2.044 billion) and Black Panther ($1.346 billion) and Universal’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom ($1.237 billion).

The Incredibles sequel, returning Brad Bird in the director’s chair, has grossed $574 million domestically and $430.9 million internationally for a global tally of $1.005 billion through Monday.

The previous six animated films to clear $1 billion are: Disney Animation’s Frozen ($1.276 billion); Universal/Illumination’s Minions ($1.159 billion); Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story 3 ($1.067 billion); Universal/Illumination’s Despicable Me 3 ($1.034 billion); Disney/Pixar’s Finding Dory ($1.028 billion); and Disney Animation’s Zootopia ($1.023 billion).
